Ms. Ayke Agus
violinist, pianist and accompanist of the world renowned Russian-American violinist Jascha Heifetz.Ms. Agus is a multi-talented artist: a master violinist and pianist of incomparable skills. Her longtime association with the great violinist Jascha Heifetz included numerous performances and chamber music concerts with the acclaimed Russian cellist Gregor Piatigorsky in addition to her significant collaboration with Mr.Heifetz on completion of his published transcriptions for violin and piano.
A native of Indonesia, of Chinese, Dutch and Javanese ancestry, Ms. Agus, a child prodigy at the age of 7 on violin and piano, came to the United States to continue her studies in New York. Upon winning several competitions, she became the youngest member of the Buffalo Philharmonic Symphony followed by two full scholarship offers: Juilliard School of Music(New York) and the University of Southern California (Los Angeles). Her acceptance into the Jascha Heifetz Masterclass at the USC began a lasting association with the great violinist up to the very end of his illustrious life.
While studying with Heifetz, Ms. Agus also pursued her Masters Degree at USC. She collaborated with Heifetz in completing many of the transcriptions and had posthumously completed, with Heifetz’ instructions, his unfinished transcription of Gershwin’s An American in Paris.
Ms. Agus held for 10 years a prominent position as a member of the piano faculty at USC. She regularly participates in chamber music festivals in the USA and performs with internationally noted ensembles such as the Ysaye String Quartet and Jacques Thibaud String Trio. Her solo appearances with symphony orchestras and solo recitals throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia receive rave reviews, describing her unique violin/piano artistry as “…brilliant! …with sensitivity & emotion!”.
Her most recent recordings for Protone Records include Ayke Agus Doubles in which she piano-accompanied her own violin playing of several Heifetz piano/violin transcriptions; Musical Mementos of Jascha Heifetz and Schubert Impromtus and works for four hands.
Ms. Agus is a member of the Pasadena Symphony and California Philharmonic. She holds master classes in The Art of Collaboration and currently teaches violin at Antelope Valley College. Her memoirs Heifetz, As I Knew Him were published in February 2001 (Amadeus Press), in conjunction with Heifetz’ Centenary Birthday Celebration. Ms. Ayke travels across the United States conducting violin/piano workshops and masterclasses and as lecturer/author, sharing her lifelong experiences at major universities with teachers and students of all ages.

Since the early 90s he has performed solo with numerous orchestras throughout Europe and Russia, such as the Berliner Symphoniker under the direction of Hans Dieter Baum, the Georgian Philharmonic, the Hamburg Philharmonic, the Lithuanian Philharmonic, the Helsinki Chamber orchestra.
Martynas Švegžda von Bekker is a full-time violin teacher at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre. And he has collaborated with his master classes in the Magister Musicae project. He is also the artistic director of the Alternative Classical Music Festival in Vilnius
